Boroondara Park Primary are very grateful to have worked with and be led by Laura as we continue to strive to improve our integration of digital technologies in our school. Laura is highly knowledgeable and experienced in the field of utilising digital technologies to support student learning across all areas of the curriculum, and is able to engage with children of all ages and with a variety of needs, as well as education staff. She draws on a range of research, resources, technologies and applications to demonstrate how digital technologies can transform learning, and supports educators to improve their knowledge and skills through professional learning sessions, modelled lessons and team teaching.
Thank you Laura for the passion and expertise you have brought to our school community.

The work that Laura undertook in developing students ability to integrate technology (iPad applications) into their daily learning has seen excellent results. Students merged different applications together to create amazing ‘redefined’ end products and in doing so utilised their higher order thinking skills. The engagement and collaboration between students whilst using iPad applications has been phenomenal. Laura’s ability to simplify the most complex tasks for students has been excellently received and students loved using their iPads to show their learning in a purposeful way. We were lucky to have Laura visit John Henry Primary School to present to staff ways of incorporating iPads in learning. She introduced us to a range of apps that were useful in the Early Years and gave us ideas for lessons and activities. In particular, her activity using the Clips app and how she linked this to a Literacy lesson was amazing! The use of a picture story book and how to explore characters in more detail using Clips was very creative. |
The iPad taster program gave our kids and staff really good first-hand experiences with one to one technology. This has inspired us to explore how real the possibility might be to go from a ‘class set’ style rostered system of iPad use, to having devices dedicated to individual students and staff. We were fortunate enough to have Laura become part of the Holy Family Community for the iPad Learning Experience. She was an amazing resource and peer to have, collaborating with staff and guiding students in such a positive way. Laura's creative expertise is grounded in sound educational pedagogy and we would welcome her back in a heartbeat. |
